On several of these themes you touched upon.

A, the fires in CO have been breaking my heart. One of my strengths is empathy, so when I hear of suffering like that, it's like I'm there, without of course being there. I can imagine what people are feeling, without thinking that I actually *know* and my heart aches for them. That Waldo Canyon pic distracted me for at least an entire morning last week. Ack.

B, I've also been thinking about self-love and acceptance. Thinking about that cruel bitch who lives in my head sometimes, but only comes out when talking about me. How can I truly be so accepting of others (I don't like everyone else, but I do -mostly- accept others for who they are), yet be so un-accepting of me? Am I not as accepting of others as I think I am? Am I really all those terrible things that bitch-in-my-head sometimes says? Is this a serious bout of PMS or a reemergence of the black dog? Am I just moody? Is that a squirrel? Aw, lookit the kitty takin' a nap.

I'm sorry. Where was I? Oh, yes. Hugs to you. Gentle ones, of course, with that rib thing you've got going on. We should send my bitch and your bitch somewhere to drink and ignore us for a while. The M Halfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15373134025069628603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5162829547026802129.post-24086517594085893892012-07-03T09:52:48.269-06:002012-07-03T09:52:48.269-06:00Jane-- I have been wondering how you were doing wi...Jane-- I have been wondering how you were doing with all the trauma of the fires. We had some smaller versions around here last year, but mostly they burned on the large local gameland. Still, a few days I drove to work with fire on both sides of the road and sometimes in the median. It was otherworldly, but very few houses were burned.

On the other thing-- unfortunately, I can so understand about not being kind to oneself. I even berate myself about berating myself! The human mind is strange and curious.

Here's well wishes from one more person who loves you.

Sometimes we just need a change of scene, so I'm happy you got one at the casino buffet.

I love crab legs too! ;-)Hugs!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01468655681800817415noreply@blogger.com
