Rough start to the day at work.
Not for me directly but still...ended up leaving 2 hours after I'd arrived to do some retail therapy at Nordstrom's. You know, because finding pretty things on sale is a major boost to the team's morale.
I needed a fresh bottle of perfume anyway so it wasn't entirely unnecessary shopping. However, on my way to the Clinique counter, I spied fresh Danskos in stock. Oh my! Wow! Hand painted and everything! My favorite pair were black with a silver and white paisley/flower print. Very pretty. But also? $225 and yeah. I liked them but not that much. Not as hard as I am on shoes. So I settled for the black patent mary jane's...that squeak.
And then, there was really no excuse for what I did next.
I'd parked on level 2. Makeup, accessories, and shoes are on level 1. I got on the escalator, bypassed level 2 entirely, and continued up to level 3. Women's department.
There I found 2 lightweight, turtleneck sweaters - one black (duh) and the other gray - marked down 60%. Score! And then, the pièce de résistance...a deep purple, wool, pea type coat marked down 70%.
After that, I figured I was better off getting out before I saw anything else. Good thing Nordstrom's doesn't carry kitchen gadgets or power tools. I'm just sayin'.
For future reference, I must remember that the best time to shop during the holidays is on a Monday morning at 8:30 when there are no other customers in the place and the sales personnel is still smiling and in a good humor.
And that's all I've got for today. Looking forward to getting the next day and a half over with (1/2 day for me on Wednesday if I can swing it) and then 4 days off...in a row...when the only scheduled plans are for Bomb Betsy's open house on Friday with the open bar pours starting at 11 a.m.
