Lookie What I Made!

December 6: Make. What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it?

Ha! If you read my blog religiously - as I know you all do...right? - you'll know that the day before this prompt was plopped into my inbox, I baked ginger cookies from scratch. I even shared the recipe with you so, if you clicked through on the link, you even know what materials I used.

But that's boring.

I could tell you about the world's largest knitted condom I made...

Complete with reservoir tip
But that's technically cheating because I made that at the end of 2009. And it wasn't actually the world's largest knitted condom. I just never felted it down into the wine cozy it was meant to be.

The fact is I make a lot of things...supper, my bed, to-do lists, messes, friends, decisions, mistakes. I guess I'm in a perpetual state of "make". Aren't we all?

Make.

Do.

Be...

Do be do be do.

Aside from that, I make...blog entries and stories. I make my life spring into life for other people near and far. I make characters (and myself) dance and sing and love and cry. I make the people in my life dance and sing and love and laugh and, hopefully not too often, cry.

I do that every day. With words. With smiles. With gentle (or not so gentle) taps with the zen stick. With jokes. With hugs. With kisses. With touches. Occasionally, with terrible photographs.

It's what I make.

It's what I do.

It's what I...am.

This is my story.

I'm sticking to it.

Into 2011...and beyond.
