We're Havin' a Heat Wave

It's minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit here this morning. The wind chill is minus 32.

I'm wearing double everything...except for only one bra1.

I'm still cold.

The 9 News website thermometer is having a little trouble this morning. When I went to check the temperature at 4:30 a.m. to know just how cold a witch's tit actually is, the website was reporting that it was minus 293 degrees.

Uhm?

Now it's reporting minus 456.

I don't remember the last time I experienced cold in the minus double digits but I feel certain I've not experienced this kind of cold since I left Wyoming in 1992.

Needless to say, this kind of weather is unusual for Denver. We normally get a cold snap long about February where the lows hover around 0 but this is not February. This is not even WINTER yet! And this is the second cold snap we've had.

And of course all the ignorant asshats who take "global warming" to mean that the weather is just supposed to be warmer are out in droves spouting off about how these kinds of weather patterns are indicative of the myth that is global warming.

This makes me cranky.

So does wearing pantyhose and leggings and jeans...at the same time.

So do turtlenecks.

And let's not even get started on the wool socks.

Overall? The weather around Jane today is minus 484 (I just checked again) with cranky skies and a chance for snark.

1: One is bad enough.

Seriously, my whole family is cranky about how unpleasant it is outside. Have you ever experienced hours with a cranky 3 year old stuck inside? We are all pretty miserable over here right now. Still, I'd rather deal with this weather than live in Florida again. Sun! Come out Sun, we need you!!
