A Matter of Convenience

Contrary to popular belief, I don't just drink wine or martinis or scotch.

Now, I do love my coffee. It's what I look forward to most every single morning. Turning on the pot is the first thing I do when I wake up1 and coffee is the biggest reason I get up at 42...so that I can enjoy my coffee without rushing around with my head on fire.

But, once I get to the office, and sometimes on the weekends, I am all about the hot tea.

And since I'm also kind of an instant gratification girl, I've discovered one of the best inventions of all time...the electric tea kettle.

Not only does this heat a cup of water to a boil in less than a minute, I don't have to leave my office or use a microwave. I can also use it for oatmeal and hot chocolate. It is simply convenience at it's finest.

And I do love convenience. I am, after all, my mother's daughter.

Favorite teas: Good Earth Original (cinnamon...mmmm...and caffeinated), Mandarin Orange Spice, Earl Grey

1: I do have an auto start feature on my coffee pot. I typically don't use it. I don't know why. It may be the ritual aspect of turning the pot on.

2: Yes, a.m.

Sebastian has one of these at work and LOVES it. I haven't been able to come up with a good enough excuse for us to buy one for home (since we already have a regular tea pot and not much extra counter space).

There is a little electric teapot in every hotel room in Europe....so glad Starbucks makes their own instant coffee now, because Nescafe (adored by European hotel room renters, evidently) *still* sucks after all these years.
