I Won't Bore You with the Details

The last two weekends have done something unusual for me.

The reset button has been hit much earlier than normal and while winter continues as evidenced by the fact that my morning commute took twice as long as normal due to crappy road conditions and even crappier drivers, the doldrums that tend to last well into March have been blown away.

Granted, the doldrums did not completely overtake me this year which was also novel. I hibernated not at all. Not at all. The only evidence of psychological winter was my lack of interest in regular exercise and the desire to totally carb out. Consequently, I lost the muscle tone I worked so hard to build and gained 10 holiday pounds which were removed so kindly by food poisoning thankyouverymuch. However, the clothes I bought in September aren't nearly so flattering now and are making the difference between muscle and flab uncomfortably evident.

My goal this winter was to just maintain until March and I pretty well did that give or take a few pounds. Overall, a success so far.

But imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning, mid-February mind you, feeling energetic, focused, and determined. I just feel...ready to go. Motivated. And happy to be ready to move forward again.

Nice.
