It Appears to Be Working

So a group of us have formed an artistic endeavour group. I don't know what else to call it...a group of artistic minded folks who wanted motivation to work on various projects - writing, drawing, what have you - but hadn't been able to self-motivate, getting together at a business with beer, wine, and coffee offerings to simply work in the company of others. Support maybe. Motivation definitely. A ready critic if necessary.

And I'm sitting here, in a fabulous space conducive to writing in that there is activity but no distractions, sipping a glass of wine, Esperanza Verdejo Viura - whatever that is besides good - flanked by two others swimming in their own creative juices, and I've just written more than I've written in forever.

And not a blog post. A story. A true live story that's been writing itself in my head for the last year.

Interesting that. Now that it's coming out of me, it's not taking the shape I thought it would. It's gone in an entirely different direction...and it's good.

I mean, I don't know if the story is good or not - only time and critique will tell me that - but the writing, the juice! It's good. The direction is good. It feels right where it needs to be.

And I've not experienced that feeling in quite some time.

By gum, I think it's working.

Thanks, Lovely. For suggesting this. For wanting to make it happen. For forcing me to make it happen. Even though you weren't able to be here. I think I'm going to owe you.
