What's Her Story?

December 31: Core story. What central story is at the core of you, and how do you share it with the world?

I am the youngest child of an unhappy marriage.

That's how this story started.

Contrary to what that statement may convey, the story isn't a tale of woe. At it's core though, the core of me, is that simple fact. I am the youngest. We were - all six of us - unhappy in the marriage. Even though only two were technically married, in marriage, there is a ripple effect. And oh my and how it did ripple!

I'm three weeks shy of my 39th birthday (presents and well wishes graciously accepted). Still, what's most important to me, what my life has been built upon, what's shaken me to my - ha ha - core, relates to how I began.

The central theme of Jane in my infinite wisdom is community...family. Building it, maintaining it, reaching out to those who should and would be included.

It is healing and being healed. Giving and receiving. It is zen sticks and zen arrows and little love taps. It is Church o' Brunch, Beaujolais Nouveau Day, Grotto Thanksgiving and Christmas at Bomb Betsy's. It is Gabor's nights and Masticator nights and Saturday nights at Milk. It is patio wine nights and Comedy Works nights. It is Vinny. It is Lex.

And it is this blog. My community, my family of readers - You, Lovely Reader. The core of my story is you.
