Bear left. Right, Frog.

I kinda have this thing about muppets.

No really. Seriously. I really have this thing about muppets.

And this thing is that I love them.

LOVE. THEM.

I grew up watching Sesame Street of course. But also? I watched The Muppet Show a lot. My favorite episode was with Debbie Harry and my favorite Blondie song has ever since been Call Me.

Additionally, Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas is in the permanent holiday line up and due to the fact that I owned the recording of The Frog Prince on vinyl, can quote every word of Jim Henson's unique take on the classic fairy tale.

"Incidentally, the lady has a frog in her hair."

Uh huh. Yep.

So it should come as no surprise to you that one of my most favorite movies in all the world is The Muppet Movie. And if you know me at all, it should not surprise you that I occasionally find myself doing the wakka wakka wakka dance for the entertainment of my IT friends. Or that I cannot hear the words "bear", "natural", "habitat", or "studebaker" without saying the line...at least in my head.

It should also not surprise you that I know all the words to all the songs because it was the first piano music I ever had strictly for pleasure playing.

So what does this have to do with anything?

The Muppet Movie is the midnight movie at the Esquire this weekend. And I'm barely able to contain my enthusiasm.

You must have seen "Meet the Feebles" then, right? Twisted movie, that one.

I think we should perhaps leave The Maestro at home. Not just because of his dislike of Muppets and Muppetdom, but because you and I will likely sit next to each other. I can't think of anything more irritating to a non-fan than being seated next to two semi-adult, giggling women who speak nearly every line and sing all the songs...... *laugh*
