Eleven Might As Well Be Eleventy-Billion

December 11: 11 Things. What are 11 things your life doesn't need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life?

1. These extra pounds or...

2. If I'm not going to get rid of the pounds perhaps I ought to get rid of the idea that I'm not OK with them. They've been around a long time, after all. There must be something I like about them.

3. The chaos that is our back storage room.

4. The mounds of documents to be shredded dating back to 1995 that have been sitting in our foyer for the last 18 months.

5. The rest of my cassette tapes dating back to 1985 (shutup).

6. My yarn stash. Carpal tunnel has prevented me from knitting for the last year. It doesn't seem likely it'll be going away any time in the near future. Hence, perhaps the yarn should go away instead of taking up entirely too much space.

7. I'd love to say all my anxiety. However, as I'm the realistic sort...mostly...occasionally...alright, fine, rarely but I strive...I'll just say I will work toward channeling the anxiety into something productive.

8. My last student loan. What a monkey on the back that's been.

9. My compulsion to pick up the check. That student loan would probably be paid off by now.

10. My fear of auto maintenance and repair *maniacal panicked laughter*.

11. Uhm...my tattoo? Maybe? If it's not too outrageously expensive. Although this will also rely on #8 and #9.

Frankly, I didn't like this prompt. While I understand the point - eliminating those things that are monkeys on backs, it feels like resolutions to me. And I don't make resolutions. Most people find it hard enough to make and keep one resolution let alone 11. But #3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 are already practically in the can so...maybe that'll free up time for the rest.
